Breaking lease?

Recently my boyfriend caught my roommate snooping in my bedroom (which has a lock and is ALWAYS locked), she claimed she was looking for stolen Girl Scout cookies.... which is a legit reason to break in to someones room, right? I think not. I decided after the incedent to stay at friends/ boyfriends houses to keep myself away. For about 4 weeks I have not lived in my house,. and more random things have been missing (like an $80 bottle of perfume). Then i noticed my mail was coming late (as in, I got my cell phone bill 2 weeks after it was due, an Easter card from my grandparents a month late), im never home to collect mail, so its usually on the counter top. After not being there for about 3 weeks the girls started ganging up on me and writing harrassing notes about food missing and other things. im never home.. Ive been calling and writing my landlord to break lease for almost a month, because i feel as though im living ina hostile enviroment. are these good reasons to break lease?

Breaking lease?
Hello Kelsey:

Rent a P.O. Box from your local post office or Mailboxes etc. store. Contact all of the people who send you mail and have them send letters to the P.O. Box from now on.

Review your rental agreement, and see what options you have for breaking the lease. Your LL may allow you to find a sub, if they are willing to live with the other tenants.
Reply:You have to properly read your contract, there usually isn't anything in them to cover for your personal relationships with the people you live with, and how you get on with them. Sometimes you can get someone to take your place for the remainder of the contract so the landlord doesn't miss out on rent. The girls you live with sound really immature, and I don't blame you for wanting out of living with them. Good luck.
Reply:What you need to do is write a letter to the other lessees explaining why you are leaving. Be professional! Rise above! Then you have to try and sublet your room. Be sure to copy your landlord on your correspondence. Your landlord has the final say on your sublet. Make sure you run ads, put up flyers in the local cafes, etc. You have to show that you are making the effort to sublet.

You can continue to pay the rent while you are trying to sublet or if your roommates decide to cover your part of the rent while you are trying to sublet it...good...otherwise, everyone on the lease will be on the hook for your missed rent. He will not go after you alone, but all persons on the lease as contracted. Good luck and better luck next time with roommates!
Reply:if youre not compftable in your home, then finding a way to leave is a good idea. hopefully you can sublet it.
Reply:NO your landlord doesn't care about these things. You should have been more selective about who you moved in with. I am not trying to be mean to you but this is an expensive lesson. Good Luck
Reply:80$ for perfume? that's insane!!
